Dan Suitor Ph.D.

Dr. Suitor is a post-doctoral resident who earned his Doctorate in Counseling Psychology from the University of Kansas following the completion of an APA-accredited internship at Grand Valley State University’s Counseling Center in Allendale, MI. He recently completed a 2-year post-doctoral, clinical fellowship at The Ohio State University’s Counseling and Consultation Service. Dr. Suitor earned an M.A. in Counseling with a child/adolescent specialization from Oakland University in Rochester, MI. He has worked in university counseling center, youth runaway shelter, VA hospital (inpatient and outpatient), and private practice settings. He approaches clinical work from a collaborative, strengths-based perspective, utilizing cognitive-behavioral, developmental, psychodynamic, and humanistic orientations through a multicultural lens. At Matrix Dr. Suitor works with children (ages 13 and older) and adults in individual and family settings. His areas of focus include depression, anxiety, life transitions, interpersonal relationships, family conflict, parenting issues, PTSD, and work-life balance. Dr. Suitor also has a particular interest in working with men and men’s issues. In his spare time, he enjoys mountain biking, cooking, and spending time with his family.
