Jessica Smedley Psy.D.


Jessica M. Smedley, PsyD is a native of California and currently providing direct care to adults, children and families in the greater Columbus area. She completed her Bacherlor of Arts in Psychology from UC Riverside and Master’s of Arts in Counseling Psychology, MFT emphasis, from University of San Francisco. Dr. Smedley completed her doctoral degree in Clinical Psychology at Fuller Theological Seminary in Pasadena, CA where she also completed two additional Master’s Degrees. Her dissertation work was focused in the areas of trauma in urban communities and spirituality. Dr. Smedley completed a significant portion of her training in community mental health settings (i.e., residential, outpatient, community-based) as well as private practice settings, providing direct care and completing psychological evaluations for adults and children who have experienced complex trauma, chronic/severe mental illness, comorbid diagnoses, and several systemic issues. She has worked in a diverse array of demographic settings to include the San Francisco Bay Area, Greater Los Angeles Area, and DC Metro area prior to coming to Ohio. Dr. Smedley will serve as the Diversity Committee Chair and Advocacy Coordinator for APA Division 31, for the Ohio Psychological Association for the 2017-18 year. She is also a proud member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc.
