Carissa Wrobbel-Downs MSW, LISW
Carissa (she/her) is a Licensed Independent Social Worker serving clients in the state of Ohio. She received her Master’s in Social Work from The Ohio State University with an emphasis on Mental Health and Substance Misuse. With a background in social work, the dignity and worth of all people and social justice are central to her approach to therapy. Carissa works with adolescents and adults, specializing in anxiety, obsessive-compulsive disorder, trauma, life transitions and grief and loss. She prioritizes a collaborative relationship with clients and uses a variety of evidence-based practices to help individuals process what’s heavy, build coping tools, and make meaningful changes. These practices include dialectical behavior therapy, person-centered therapy, parts work (IFS), and a mind-body-spirit approach to help meet the diverse needs of each individual. Carissa has a particular interest in supporting members of the LGBTQIA+ community and welcomes clients of all gender and sexual identities. Outside of the therapy room she enjoys time in nature, reading, crafting, and supporting local coffee shops.
