Michael Mason, LISW-S

Michael Mason is a Licensed Independent Social Worker with a Supervisory Endorsement through the State of Ohio Counselor, Social Work and Marriage and Family Therapy Board. He earned his Masters of Social Work Degree from the Ohio State University, Bachelor Degree in Child and Adolescent Development from the American University in Washington, D.C. and Associate Degree in Mental Health from Montgomery College in Tacoma Park, Maryland. He has worked inpatient psychiatry, community mental health and in the addictions field for over 35 years and approaches clinical work from a collaborative, strengths-based perspective. Using cognitive-behavioral, developmental and psychodynamic orientations, he provides individual and couples/marital therapy for those struggling with depression, relationship or life transitions, anxiety, work-life balance, grief and stress management. As a veteran, Michael also works with service members and their families dealing with PTSD and post-deployment adjustment concerns. As a Christian, he has an understanding and appreciation for the potential of one’s faith in understanding purpose, choices and meaning. While not required for successful therapy, it is a reliable asset. Whether counseling or coaching, wellness builds upon a person’s natural resilience. The goal is to promote increased self-confidence, improved problem solving ability and result in a greater sense of well being.
