The term “enhancement” often carries a negative connotation, insinuating that an individual needs help with their job due to “limitations” or “shortcomings”. This is an unfortunate association that we at Matrix reject entirely. As clinically-trained psychologists, we know first-hand that those who seek assistance are often the least likely to need it compared to those who never consider it. This is why we take a “strengths-based” approach to leadership enhancement, which focuses on identifying an individual’s best qualities and nurturing those qualities to make them an even stronger leader.

Leadership Enhancement & Talent Development
What is the Matrix Leadership Enhancement Process?
Matrix Leadership enhancement is a thorough and dynamic engagement between a single Matrix psychologist and a leader. Using a formal screening process (an adjunct to the Matrix Complete pre-employment screening), we identify a leader’s strengths and select one on which to narrow our focus. The strength is chosen based on what the leader wishes to develop (both personally and professionally).
Next, a complementary behavior associated with the chosen strength is selected for enhancement. This is the stage that involves the actual “doing” by the leader. The Matrix psychologist works closely with the leader to practice and fine-tune the complementary behavior and periodically checks in to evaluate progress. A final formal assessment is typically conducted several months later to assess whether or not the newly-developed strength and behavior were sustained.
Our Process
- Identify strengths in leadership style
- Choose a strength of focus based on the perceived value of the leader and the organization)
- Select a complementary behavior to enhance to build upon the strength
- Work with a psychologist to develop the behavior systematically in the work environment
- Review the success of implementing new behaviors
- Maintain periodic “check-ins” to instill accountability and assist with any barriers to success
Executive Assessment
The first step towards sustainable profitability is placing the right people in the right positions within your organization. Put simply; it’s all about “fit.” No matter the strength of your business model, if you do not have the right people steering the ship, you will inevitably find yourself in troubled waters. This is why we developed the Matrix Leadership Pre-Employment Screening Process.
Team Building
Despite amassing a group of skilled and qualified employees, organizations don’t always reach their potential. The Matrix Team Building Process harnesses the collective talents of your team rather than the abilities of each member to take productivity and innovative thinking to the next level. Find out what your team is doing well, what areas need improvement, and how strengths can better align to achieve a higher level of performance.
Fitness-for-Duty
Matrix psychologists are frequently asked by human resource personnel and legal counsel to perform independent psychological evaluations (IPE) to determine the nature, extent, and primary cause of an employee’s psychological and emotional distress. IPEs also assess the adequacy of their psychological treatment, their “fitness” to return to work, and whether or not they are at risk for harming themselves or others.
